Description
For FN 509 owners who shoot in Arizona’s demanding conditions—extreme heat, blowing dust, and frequent suppressor use—the factory striker can be a weak point. Dry fire practice, high round counts, and carbon fouling from suppressed fire all accelerate wear. The Apex Durable Striker is a direct drop-in replacement built to handle that abuse. Priced at $75, it’s a one-time upgrade that saves you from replacing broken strikers down the line.
This striker is machined from heat-treated tool steel and finished with Nickel Teflon. That means two real benefits for you: the coating provides natural lubricity to reduce friction in gritty, dusty conditions, and it resists corrosion from sweat or humidity. The sear catch geometry has been re-engineered for a crisp trigger break while maintaining full sear engagement—so your trigger pull stays consistent, not mushy, even after thousands of rounds.
We’ve tested this striker through over 1 million dry fires during development. The result? A certified rating of 125,000 dry strikes on an empty chamber. That’s real-world validation, not marketing hype. A proprietary buffer included in the package installs into your slide to dampen the shockwave from dry firing, protecting the striker and your pistol’s internals from fatigue. A 6mm x 60mm socket head cap screw is also included as a removal tool for cleaning and maintenance.

Installation Notes: You will need to transfer these factory components from your original striker: striker spring stop, striker spring stop pin, striker return spring, and striker spring guide. These are reused with the Apex Durable Striker. Mixing springs or parts from different manufacturers is not recommended—use only factory FN springs or the Apex Slide Maintenance Kit. Combining this striker with another brand’s spring kit is likely to cause malfunctions, and we cannot offer technical support for mixed-component builds.
