Description
This Apex 5.00″ slide is a direct replacement for your factory FN 509 slide. It is a stripped unit — you will need to transfer your existing FN 509 internal components and install a 5″ barrel. All internal spaces in this slide are machined to accept factory FN parts. For best results, any Apex parts designed for the 509 will fit and function correctly with this slide.
Slide Features
- Apex 5″ slide for the FN 509 pistol
- Front and rear cocking serrations for positive manipulation, even with sweaty or gloved hands
- Two serration options available: Classic or Lightning Bolt
- Suppressor-height black-on-black sights installed by Apex — no extra gunsmith visit required
- Black PVD finish resists wear from holster drag, dust, and Arizona heat
- Ports in the slide align with the Apex ported barrel to vent gas upward, reducing muzzle rise and keeping your sights on target faster
- Note: The porting only works correctly with an Apex ported barrel for the FN 509
What You Need to Complete the Build
This slide requires all FN 509 internals and a 5″ barrel. You have several options:
- Use the factory parts from your current FN slide
- Contact Apex Customer Service to order a Slide Completion Kit (available only with slide purchase; Apex will fully assemble the slide before shipping)
- Purchase new factory FN components from Midwestgunworks.com or Brownells.com

- Apex Direct Drop-In Barrel for FN509 — 5.00″ (part 105-073)
- Apex 9mm Drop-In Threaded Barrel for FN 509 — 5.00″ (part 105-074) — suppressor-ready for quiet shooting
- Apex 9mm Drop-In Ported Barrel for Apex FN 509 Ported Slides — 5.00″ (coming soon) — required to use the slide ports
Optic Mount: RMR Footprint
This slide is cut with the correct geometry to direct-mount optics using the RMR footprint. Compatible optics include:
- Trijicon RMR, RMR-HD, SRO
- Holosun 508 series and other RMR-pattern sights
