Description
The Apex Optic Mount solves a specific problem for Glock MOS owners in Arizona: how to securely attach a Holosun 509T to your factory-cut slide without adding bulk or creating failure points. This mount is machined from billet steel, then black oxide finished. That matters when your gun lives in a holster under the desert sun, gets dusty on the range, and sees rapid temperature swings from air-conditioned trucks to 110-degree outdoor air. Steel holds up better than aluminum under heat cycling and resists galling when torqued to spec.
This mount is designed exclusively for Glock MOS slides. It bolts directly to the factory MOS cut with the included mounting screws. No adapter plates, no shims, no extra parts to lose in the dirt. The 509T sits lower than it would on a multi-plate stacking system, which helps with co-witness potential and keeps your optic mass closer to the bore axis. For suppressor users, this lower profile also reduces the chance of gas blowback interfering with the lens during rapid fire.
- Material: Billet steel, black oxide finish — resists corrosion from sweat, humidity, and dust abrasion better than anodized aluminum.
- Fitment: Direct mount to Glock MOS slides (G17, G19, G34, G45, G47, G49 MOS models). Not compatible with standard milled slides or non-MOS Glocks.
- Optic compatibility: Holosun 509T (all generations, both standard and X2). Does not fit 507C, 508T, or other Holosun footprints.
- Mounting hardware: Includes steel screws pre-sized for the 509T to MOS interface. Use these specific screws — aftermarket fasteners may have incorrect thread pitch or head height.
- Torque specification: 15 in-lb on the mounting screws. We recommend cleaning the slide mounting surface and the underside of the mount before installation to remove any oil, carbon, or debris. A drop of blue threadlocker on dry threads is optional but recommended for carry guns.
- Country of origin: Made in the Free State of Arizona by Apex — same local heat and dust conditions your gear actually faces.
At $60, this mount costs less than most multi-plate systems and eliminates the stacking tolerance issues that can cause optic shift over time. For Arizona shooters running classes, competitions, or daily carry in high-heat conditions, the steel construction provides consistent retention as temperatures fluctuate. The black oxide finish also reduces glare compared to bare stainless or bright aluminum, which is a real advantage when shooting from cover in direct sun.
