It’s not a magic wand, but it’s the closest thing to a trigger job you can drop in yourself without a gunsmith. The flat face gives you a consistent finger placement every time, which means you stop chasing the wall and start shooting.

The kit replaces the factory trigger shoe, sear, and a couple of springs. You keep the factory sear spring and trigger return spring if you want a duty-weight pull (around 4.5-5 lbs). Swap in the Apex springs for a lighter competition-style break (down to about 3.5 lbs). You decide. No guesswork, no permanent modifications.

What you get: shorter over-travel, a clean break, and a trigger reset that’s about half the distance of stock. That’s not a claim—that’s a measurement. The reset is tactile and audible. You’ll feel it click back into place, not guess.

Installation Notes

You’ll need a 1/16″ punch and a small hammer. Maybe a slave pin if you don’t have steady hands. It’s a drop-in, but “drop-in” in the gun world still means you need to follow instructions. Apex includes a detailed PDF link in the package. If you’ve detail-stripped an M&P before, you’ll be done in 20 minutes. If you haven’t, take an hour and watch a video. We recommend using a bench block—don’t do it on your kitchen counter.

One note: this kit works with the 2.0 only. Not the original M&P 1.0, not the Shield, not the Bodyguard. M&P 2.0. Check your serial number if you’re not sure.
