Southern Arizona is carry country, and the CZ DUTY 4.0 arrives as a new optics-ready 9x19mm striker gun sized for it. CZ put the serial number on an internal modular chassis and wrapped it in a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame, then gave it a 4-inch unthreaded barrel, fixed sights and a direct-mount red-dot cut. The SFDA trigger is rated at 5.6 pounds with a 4 mm reset.

In Tucson, Oro Valley and Marana, and down to Sierra Vista and Nogales, the C compact at 15+1 rounds, 770 g and 1.3 inches wide is the carry choice. Up in Phoenix and Mesa, or for the nightstand, the F full-size with 17+1 and a 143 mm grip gives more to hold. Both are available as MS models with a manual thumb safety. The $729 MSRP applies across the line, and all four share the 7.4-inch overall length.

The chassis is serial-numbered and modular, which is CZ's way of making the polymer grip swappable. The frame itself is fiberglass-reinforced polymer, 33 mm (1.3 in) wide, on a 4-inch barrel and a 188 mm (7.4 in) overall length. The SFDA trigger breaks at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) and resets in 4 mm (0.16 in). Optics mount directly to the slide; the photos from CZ show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield footprints.

The F is the full-frame frame: 143 mm (5.6 in) tall, 780 g (27.7 oz) unloaded, 17+1 rounds of 9mm on board and 19+1 with the extended base plate. The longer grip fills a big hand and settles the gun between shots.

MS stands for external safety. This model adds a thumb safety lever to the internal safeties every DUTY has: the firing pin block, the trigger safety and the drawbar safety. Agencies and buyers who want a positive on/off control choose this version; the trigger itself is unchanged.

The CZ DUTY 4.0 F MS suits anyone who wants a modern optics-ready 9mm with CZ's grip and a trigger that is better than the class average: the belt, the home-defense and the range; the version to buy if you rarely need to hide the gun.

Order the model you want and choose the Arizona dealer it ships to. Arizona has no permit to purchase and no waiting period; the background check happens at your dealer when you pick it up. Ammo and gear ship to your home address. Price and stock are confirmed live when you order, before you pay, so the number you see is the number you pay.

Questions buyers ask: Do I need a permit to buy a handgun in Arizona? No. Arizona has no permit to purchase and no waiting period; the dealer runs the background check when you pick it up. How wide is the DUTY 4.0 for inside-the-waistband carry? 33 mm, or 1.3 inches, on both the C and the F. The C is the shorter of the two at 135 mm tall and 770 g. Is the CZ DUTY 4.0 F MS the same gun as the F? Yes, apart from the manual thumb safety. Chassis, trigger, slide and the 17+1 capacity are identical.
