Coues deer in the sky island ranges of southern Arizona are small, wary and often spotted far across a canyon. Climbing to glass them is hard work, which is why a light carbon rifle that fits the hunter matters here. Fierce Firearms made the Mini Rogue family for youth, women and smaller-framed shooters who want that kind of rifle.

Each Mini Rogue has a shorter length of pull and an adjustable comb or push-button cheek piece set in a carbon fiber stock. On the CT Mini Rogue XP, a titanium action and C3 carbon barrel bring the weight to about 6 lb. The integral bipod rail helps when the shot is across a draw. Choose 6.5 Creedmoor or 6.5 PRC for Coues and desert mule deer, and look at 308 or 7mm-08 if an elk tag comes through on the draw.

6.5 Creedmoor is one of the most popular hunting and target cartridges in the country: mild recoil, good long-range accuracy and ammunition you can find almost anywhere.

Fierce builds the Carbon Mini Rogue on its stainless steel two-lug action. A short 70-degree bolt throw keeps the scope clear, and the Bix'n Andy Dakota trigger can be adjusted to suit the buyer.

This rifle has a 20 in barrel, 4+1 capacity, and weighs about 5.8 lb. Finish: Purple Camo.

Most Arizona deer shots come from a sitting position over a pack or off a bipod. A smaller shooter with a stock that is too long has to stretch, and the crosshair dances. Fit the length of pull to the shooter, then set the comb so the eye finds the scope center from a sitting position. Learn on 22 or 6.5 Creedmoor first.

Arizona has no permit to purchase and no waiting period. Your rifle ships to the Arizona dealer you choose, from Tucson and Marana to Sierra Vista, Nogales or Phoenix. That dealer runs the background check when you collect. Ammo and gear are delivered to your address. Price and stock are verified live before payment goes through.
